“He is pregnant” – 3D printed jewellery story
Chapter 1 (pendant). A young male seahorse went out for a swin one day. Cruising around, greeting the corals, waving at the starfish. Out of nowhere, she appeared in front of him. She flashed her eyelashes and beckoned him with her gorgeous tail. He just followed, hypnotised, right into the corals... The first chapter of this jewellery story, the pendant depicts this encounter, which soon will lead to interesting consequences for our hero...
Chapter 2 (ring). Our hero came back home and carried on with his life as usual, swimming around, looking for a nice coral to hand on to... One day he suddenly felt strange: confused, irritated, sensitive to starfish, he found himself doubting the point of his existence. Then he looked in the mirror and saw his stomach had grown! Terrified and unable to find explanation, he swam down to the doctor, who explained that he was pregnant and was soon going to have at least 1800 babies... One minute of passion and 1800 babies seems like a high price to pay... The mother was nowhere to be found by now so he just attached himself to the nearest coral and waited quietly for the babies to come...
Chapter 3 (cufflinks). In this chapter things get really interesting for our hero. As the preganacy progresses, he moves less and less, conserving his energy. His respiration increases, he trembles and shakes, grabs hold of the nearest coral and even changes colour! Suddenly, his stomach begins to contract violently, spitting clouds of babies into the seaworld...
Chapter 4 (earrings). 1845 babies later, he was free again. Exhausted, he dropped to the sea bed to take a break and soon dozed off. When he opened his eyes, she was once again right in front of him, flashing her eyelashes, beckoning him with her tail. A wicked creature, she was ready to make more kids, and to take the kids away! The pain and exhaustion of pregnancy and labour had magically erased themselves from his memory and once again, he knew he couldn't resist... (And while in this state, he happily granted her full custody of the kids he had worked so hard to bare and deliver!)Meanwhile survival statistics are not looking too good for those new babies. Approximately 5 in a thousand survive into adulthood! In our case, the surviving 6 babies and sticking together and have found new cozy things to hang on to. Don't you think they look so much like their dad?!
“He is pregnant” is a jewellery story of a young male seahorse finding himself in a delicate and unexpected situation… It is based on a true story (male seahorses really do get pregnant and give birth). In this story, she gets to have the passionate encounter, she gets him pregnant and she gets the kids while he has to give birth. The jewellery items reflect this arrangement: the items depicting the fun parts are for her (the pendant, the ring, the earrings) while the hard work of giving birth depicted by the cufflinks, is for him!
