These were made with Cycle GANs that has been fed my landscape sketches and comics (unpaired image translation). The main difference between the two is the working procedure and time that went into drawing them: while the landscape drawings have been made slowly (and often in stages such as onsite sketch, then later on colouring perhaps days or weeks later, then "special effects" such as ink splashes etc.), the comics are made on a timer of 3-4 minutes (sometimes a few minutes more for colouring) but usually in one sitting, spontaneous and without much thought. There is a stylistic difference by consequence. The landscape sketches are made on location and at times from photos, while the comics are made entirely from memory. Thus, we have merged two very different ways of working in this project.
